Artist Statement

I am a multidisciplinary artist with a focus on sculpture, installation and photography. I've been a practicing artist for 10 years. The intention of my work is to invoke the need of self expression and self discovery. I do this by channeling into my own life experiences, in turn creating spaces that encourage vulnerability. Creating a space for wonder, play and insight is the goal. I achieve that by creating interactive spaces, with the use of relatable, and ephemeral materials. Process is an ongoing theme of my work.

At Collective Focus

Over the summer Billie built an incredible custom desk for the Resource Hub, made entirely out of scrap salvaged wood. This upcycled art project created a functional staple object for benefit of the entire collective. Billie has also assists with photography and documentation for Collective Focus. Our next collaboration includes a public sculpture on the exterior premises of the Resource Hub. The unique crafted structure is designed to support plant growth in our micro-garden while intriguing the imaginations of thousands of passerbys.

Sculpture

Mushroom-like structures with earthy internal worlds constructed from found objects and recycled materials such as cardboard.

Little Black Book

“LLB is a time based self portrait project. I digitally layer my journal entries over self portraits.”
